Main Contractor: Vinci Construction Ltd
Location: Solihull

The Task

This challenging project, with its unique specifications, stringent design criteria and tight time frames, was primarily divided into two elements.

The construction of a 200m long structure incorporating approach ramps with a single spanning elliptical bridge which crosses the Damson Parkway and construction of five service buildings located within the 100,000sqm despatch facility. The bridge construction consisted of a curved standing seam roof and soffit cladding along with curved architectural aluminium cassette panels. The approach ramps featured a standing seam roof and Siberian Larch timber acoustic and ventilated walls and soffit finishes. The bridge was partially constructed at the side of the road and lifted into position, where it was completed whilst the road below remained in full operation.

The Solution

The service buildings were a combination of both EnviroSIPS insulated structures and steel framed, composite cladded buildings finished with a fibre cement slate roof and Siberian Larch wall cladding. Time was of the essence during this contract and Rooflock were delighted to work on this prestigious project, providing high performance stainless steel fasteners and technical support when required.
